Dear Abandonmates,

Thank you for your submissions. Your stories add to the growing data I've been collecting on abandonment. My colleagues and I carefully read all submissions and uphold strict confidentiality.

Selected entries will be published in my future book: SYMPOSIUM OF ABANDONMENT SURVIVORS (working title). These collected stories will be a tapestry of different length pieces submitted through this website. They will help readers draw parallels to their own lives, inspire their recovery, and above all, let them know they are not alone.

For my next publication, I am looking for submissions between 200 and 700 words that describe three elements of your situation 1) Your abandonment event 2) significant earlier losses ? how your old wounds impact upon the new, and 3) how you survived it all - the impact both positive and negative on your relationships and current life.

Many of your stories were used in my last book "Journey from Heartbreak to Connection." Whereas all of the research data I collected through this website were preserved in their original form in confidential files, all of the situations you described were disguised and scrambled to protect your identities. I hope you have enjoyed seeing your stories in print (without disclosing your identities) and that you feel the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping people.
